Synopsis of La vieja sirena

La vieja sirena es una novela del escritor español José Luis Sampedro, publicada en 1990. La historia se desarrolla en el Egipto del siglo III, durante una época de cambios y confusión, con dos grandes imperios en decadencia: el romano y el persa. La protagonista, una mujer de gran belleza y misterio, emprende un viaje que la lleva a Alejandría, donde conocerá a dos hombres que marcarán su destino: Ahram el Navegante, un hombre de acción sediento de poder, y el filósofo Krito, poseedor del don de la palabra. La novela es un canto a la vida, una recreación histórica y un relato fantástico lleno de lirismo y sensualidad, que reflexiona sobre el poder y nuestro inestable presente.
