Synopsis of El río que nos lleva
El río que nos lleva es una novela del escritor español José Luis Sampedro, publicada en 1961. La historia se desarrolla en la zona del Alto Tajo y narra las aventuras de un grupo de gancheros, hombres que se dedicaban a transportar madera por el río. La llegada de una mujer a este entorno duro y hostil desencadena una serie de acontecimientos que culminan en una historia de sufrimiento y violencia. La novela ha sido adaptada al cine en una película del mismo título dirigida por Antonio del Real.

José Luis Sampedro
José Luis Sampedro Sáez was a Spanish economist and writer who advocated an economy "more humane, more caring, able to help develop the dignity of peoples". Academician of the Real Academia Española since 1990, he was the recipient of the Order of Arts and Letters of Spain, the Menéndez Pelayo International Prize (2010) and the Spanish Literature National Prize (2011). He became an inspiration for the anti-austerity movement in Spain.
