Albert Ellis was an American psychologist and psychotherapist who founded rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT). He is generally considered to be one of the originators of the cognitive revolutionary paradigm shift in psychotherapy and an early proponent and developer of cognitive-behavioral therapies.
