«Queda la noche» is a contemporary fiction novel by Soledad Puértolas, published by Editorial Anagrama in paperback (240 pages, in Spanish).
Aurora, the narrator, embarks on a journey through the East to escape the emptiness of summer. Not being a woman of action, she lets herself be carried along by events: adventure arrives, erupts and recedes; love is transformed and the warm Indian nights remain as a memory. Mystery, chance and desire surround her search for an interlocutor who will change her life.
The work was awarded the Planeta Prize in 1989 and is part of Anagrama's Compactos collection, where it bears number 177.
Aimed at the general public, especially those seeking contemporary fiction in Spanish and narrative by an award-winning author.
