«Queda la noche» is the novel by Soledad Puértolas, published by Planeta in paperback (256 pages, in Spanish).
Aurora travels to the East to escape the emptiness of summer. Not being a woman of action, she lets herself be carried along by events and becomes caught up in a web of happenings. In another summer, she seeks an interlocutor who will change her life. The novel explores love, loss, desire, the mystery of other people's lives, and the interpretations each person creates.
The work won the Premio Planeta de Novela in 1989. Planeta's paperback edition dates from 1991.
