«Queda la noche» is the novel by Soledad Puértolas, published by Editorial Planeta in hardback (239 pages, in Spanish).
Aurora travels to the East to escape the emptiness of summer; that journey triggers a series of events that weave a web around her. Not being a woman of action, she lets herself be carried along by events in search of an interlocutor who will change her life. Chance, the mystery of other people's lives and the melancholy of loss run through the work.
Novel winner of the Premio Planeta in 1989, the year of its publication. The first edition was printed with a print run of 200,000 copies.
