Doctor Florestan is summoned to a secret meeting in New York: the comet Frazella-Gröss threatens Earth. To preserve humanity, a commission promotes the Trojan Eagle project. The work raises ethical dilemmas about which human traits to save and interweaves that plot with Florestan's love for Maria Steinway and his own past.
