«L'últim tren» is the contemporary fiction novel by Vicent Borràs Castanyer, published by Edicions Bromera in paperback (200 pages, in Catalan).
Delfina takes the commuter train every night to her family's village, where she watches over a centenarian old woman. That journey towards the south of Valencia also becomes an immersion in the past: her own story and the settings that surrounded the construction of the railway line. Between memories and historical episodes, the narrative weaves love, betrayal, friendship and economic interests into an intrigue of almost cinematic pace.
Volume 74 of the L'Eclèctica collection. Winner of the Premi Joanot Martorell 2000.
For adult readers aged 16 and over interested in contemporary and literary fiction.
