«Sala d'espera» is a collection of short stories by Vicent Borràs Castanyer, published by Edicions Bromera in paperback (152 pages, in Catalan).
Self-contained stories whose characters cross from one tale to another and blur the boundary between reality and fiction. The narrator uses an agile, complicit and ironic tone, with subtle humour. The common thread is the difficulty human beings have in communicating at the end of the millennium, between silences and words, as in a waiting room.
Part of the L'Eclèctica collection (no. 39) from Edicions Bromera. Winner of the Premi Vila de Perpinyà Modest Sabaté 1995, as stated on the cover.
Contemporary fiction for those who enjoy interlinked short stories and an ironic tone; suggested reading age from 16.
