«La nevada del cucut» is the novel by Blanca Busquets, published by Rosa dels Vents in paperback (256 pages, in Catalan).
The novel crosses two stories: Tònia, a woman from the past, writes in secret in a village in Catalonia; a century later, Lali, her great-granddaughter, finds those papers and also cannot stop writing. Only they see a snow-covered village in a painting that for other people is just stains. Art and letters come together to speak of pain, intense feelings and the search for a full life.
The work won the Premi Llibreter for narrative in 2011 and belongs to the Narrativa collection from Rosa dels Vents.
For readers of contemporary fiction, also from age 14, interested in stories about women, writing, family secrets and memory.
