«Historias del Kronen» is a contemporary fiction novel by José Ángel Mañas, published by Booket in paperback (240 pages, in Spanish).
Carlos, a twenty-year-old student, and his friends turn their nights into a routine of sex, alcohol and drugs. Their contempt for work, for the weak and for women is the banner of a directionless youth. The adventures follow one another without restraint until the euphoria spirals into destruction.
Finalist for the 1994 Premio Nadal and winner of the 1995 Premio de la Crítica San Sebastián; adapted into a film in 1995 by Montxo Armendáriz. Edition published by Booket in 2005.
For readers of contemporary Spanish fiction who want to discover a generational portrait of urban youth in the nineties.
