«Futuros sin futuro» is a science fiction short story collection by Jacques Sternberg, published by Ediciones Dronte in paperback (151 pages, in Spanish).
Starting from seemingly innocuous questions, such as how much it costs to send a letter to the nearest star, Sternberg invites us to doubt the radiant future promised by the prophets of progress: what if tomorrow were worse than today, or the future were blocked by a wall of nothing?
1977 edition in the Nueva Dimensión Collection (no. 20), translated by Domingo Santos; the original French title is 'Futurs sans avenir'.
For science fiction readers seeking an acerbic and iconoclastic approach, with echoes of Kurt Vonnegut and the French underground.
Jacques Sternberg was a French-language writer of science fiction and fantastique.
