«Felicidades conyugales» is a book of thirteen short stories by Mercedes Abad, published by Tusquets Editores in paperback (198 pages, in Spanish).
Felicidades conyugales brings together thirteen stories that look with irony at life as a couple: passion drags people into grotesque and absurd situations, and beneath the surface emerge self-deception, cruelty and lack of communication. Abad portrays ennui, self-interested or fortuitous love and seduction as obsession, with sarcasm and without shying away from taboos.
Published in 1989, it is Mercedes Abad's second book of short stories and is number 107 in the Andanzas collection.
For readers of contemporary fiction and literary narrative who appreciate stories with irony and a sarcastic look at life as a couple.
