«Donde el corazón te lleve» is the epistolary novel by Italian writer Susanna Tamaro, in hardback (181 pages, in Spanish).
Olga, an elderly woman who sees her death approaching, writes a long letter to her granddaughter to tell her what they never said to each other in life. Through that letter, the family history, the quarrels with her deceased daughter, and the wounds that never healed pass by, along with reflections on love, solitude, and the need to listen to one's own heart. An intimate novel about memory and feelings left unexpressed.
The original Italian title, «Va' dove ti porta il cuore», was published in 1994; the Spanish edition is from 1995.
For readers of contemporary fiction who appreciate intimate novels and family dramas.
