«¡Cumpleaños feliz!» is the children's story by Carmen Vázquez-Vigo, published by Editorial Bruño in paperback (64 pages, in Spanish).
A very special group of voices comes together like a choir and manages to create harmony where others only expected to hear a racket. The story champions unity and companionship: what one person alone cannot achieve is better accomplished by many. An invitation to live each day with enthusiasm, even if it is not our birthday.
It is number 72 in the Alta Mar collection, with illustrations by M.ª Fe González Casado. Carmen Vázquez-Vigo won the National Prize for Children's Literature in 1992.
Recommended for children aged 6 and over, it is used as a reading book in the first cycle of primary education.
