«Una cruzada en solitario» is the contemporary fiction novel by Chester Himes, published by Grijalbo Mondadori in paperback (487 pages, in Spanish).
Lee Gordon, a young Black university student, agrees to take charge of a local union section at an aircraft factory. He works fairly, but carries a hidden contempt for himself and for those of his race; actor and witness to the tensions of the union world, he undergoes a process of consciousness that restores his faith in his abilities.
Originally published in English as «Lonely Crusade» in 1947, this Spanish edition features a translation by Diana Falcón and a foreword by Graham Hodges.
For readers of contemporary fiction and social novels interested in racial tension and the union world.

In 1958, Himes won France's Grand Prix de Littérature Policière.
