«Te di la vida entera» is the novel by Cuban writer Zoé Valdés, published by Booket in paperback (368 pages, in Spanish).
The novel follows Cuca from her arrival in prerevolutionary Havana, at just sixteen, and over sixty years of Cuban history. Between boleros and romantic disappointments, it portrays desire, hope and disillusionment, with acerbic humor and eroticism, and the degradation of life in Cuba before and after the Revolution.
Finalist for the Planeta Prize 1996; the novel was originally published in 1996 and this Booket edition is from 12 September 2002.
For readers of contemporary and historical fiction, especially those interested in Cuba and romantic stories.
