«La cazadora de astros» is the contemporary fiction novel by Zoé Valdés, published in 2007 by Plaza & Janés in paperback (352 pages, in Spanish).
The novel recreates the secret life of Remedios Varo, a Spanish surrealist painter of the 1930s, and her relationship with a Cuban poet critical of the Castro regime. Between art, love and uprootedness, the story traces the artist's exile in Mexico and the connections between Spain, Cuba and creation in the twentieth century.
The first edition from Plaza & Janés was released on 16 October 2007 in Spain and corresponds to this ISBN.
It is a read for those interested in surrealism, exile and stories of twentieth-century artists.
