«Rime» is Dante Alighieri's collection of lyric poetry, published by Rizzoli in paperback (125 pages, in Italian).
It brings together sonnets, songs, ballads and sestinas composed by Dante throughout his life, showing the evolution of his poetry from the Dolce Stil Novo to the more mature works of exile. Love is the central thread: from spiritual devotion to Beatrice to more sensual, realistic and polemical registers.
The collection belongs to the BUR I classici blu series (no. 286) and the edition dates from 2004.
For readers of classic Italian poetry who want to discover Dante's lyric verse.
Fourteenth-century Italian poet, father of the modern Italian language and author of the Divine Comedy, one of the masterworks of world literature.
