«Numero Zero» is the historical mystery novel by Umberto Eco, published by Random House UK in paperback (272 pages, in English).
Milan, 1992: Colonna, a disillusioned hack writer, is hired to draft the memoirs of a newspaper funded by a magnate. Theories emerge about a Mussolini who may not have died in 1945 and a manipulated corpse; a murder and the paper's closure force him to take the conspiracy seriously.
«Numero Zero» was originally published in Italian in 2015; the English translation appeared in July 2016.
For readers of historical and mystery fiction, particularly those interested in twentieth-century Italian politics and conspiracy theories.

Umberto Eco was an Italian medievalist, philosopher, semiotician, novelist, cultural critic, and political and social commentator. In English, he is best known for his popular 1980 novel The Name of the Rose, a historical mystery combining semiotics in fiction with biblical analysis, medieval studies and literary theory, as well as Foucault's Pendulum, his 1988 novel which touches on the history of occultism and its contemporary interpretation through the new age movement.
