«Mariona Rebull» is the novel by Ignacio Agustí, published by Bibliotex in hardback (255 pages, in Spanish).
The novel follows Joaquín Rius and Mariona Rebull's courtship and then marriage, which fails and leads to adultery; around the love triangle formed by the austere husband, the dissatisfied wife and the frivolous lover, it traces the social chronicle of an era. Agustí revives a classic theme of the 19th-century novel.
Work originally published in 1944; this Bibliotex edition is from 2001. First installment of the saga 'La ceniza fue árbol' and part of the Biblioteca El Mundo collection, with a prologue by Luis Racionero.
For readers of classic Spanish fiction and 19th-century period dramas.
