«Mañana en la batalla piensa en mí» is the suspense novel by Javier Marías, published by Alfaguara in paperback (460 pages, in Spanish).
A man attends a dinner with a married woman he barely knows; when she dies suddenly, he must decide how to act before the corpse, a small child, and an absent husband. Flight does not erase that night, and the novel explores guilt, memory, and the fragility of life with introspective prose.
The novel was recognized with the Rómulo Gallegos, Fastenrath, Arzobispo Juan de San Clemente, Prix Femina étranger, and Mondello awards.
For readers of contemporary literary fiction and suspense seeking a slow-paced narrative with deep introspection.
