«Los intereses creados» is the play by Jacinto Benavente, published by Bruño in paperback (192 pages, in Spanish).
The play presents two rogues, Crispín and Leandro, who arrive in a city pretending to be great gentlemen and weave a web of economic and social interests to climb in high society. Benavente thus constructs a critique of bourgeois hypocrisy, in which appearances and money prevail over moral values.
