«Lo es» is Frank McCourt's autobiographical work continuing «Las cenizas de Ángela», published by Embolsillo in paperback (528 pages, in Spanish).
Frank McCourt arrives in the United States in 1949. His first job at a hotel reveals the hierarchies of a supposedly classless society. He then enters New York University and resumes the studies he left at fourteen. With the humour of «Las cenizas de Ángela», his survival as an emigrant becomes lessons in humanity.
Second instalment of the Frank McCourt series, continuation of «Las cenizas de Ángela». The English original was published in 1999 under the title «'Tis»; this Spanish edition is from 2001.
For those who enjoyed «Las cenizas de Ángela» and want to follow Frank McCourt's life journey in the United States.
Francis McCourt was an Irish-American teacher and writer. He won a Pulitzer Prize for his book Angela's Ashes, a tragicomic memoir of the misery and squalor of his childhood.
