«Las horas oscuras» is the historical fantasy novel by Juan Francisco Ferrándiz, published by Debolsillo in paperback (640 pages, in Spanish).
In the year 1000, Abbot Brian of Liébana and his monks rebuild the monastery of San Columbano in Ireland while fleeing from dark knights. The arrival of a stranger with a secret mission and a Celtic woman unleashes a curse of death and shadows. It is a historical novel with a fantastic atmosphere reminiscent of Umberto Eco and Tolkien.
This second edition belongs to the Best Seller collection. The novel was originally published in 2012; this Debolsillo edition appeared in 2013.
Recommended for readers of historical and fantasy fiction, especially for those who appreciate the homages to «The Name of the Rose» and Tolkien.
