Synopsis of La tregua
La tregua es una novela del escritor uruguayo Mario Benedetti, publicada por primera vez en 1960. La historia, narrada en forma de diario personal, sigue a Martín Santomé, un viudo de mediana edad que trabaja como oficinista en Montevideo. Santomé lleva una vida monótona y solitaria hasta que conoce a Laura Avellaneda, una joven compañera de trabajo. Entre ellos surge una relación amorosa que le da un nuevo sentido a su existencia. Sin embargo, esta tregua en su vida gris se ve interrumpida por un giro inesperado del destino. La novela explora temas como la soledad, la rutina, el amor y la búsqueda de la felicidad en la vida cotidiana.
