«La filla del mar» is the play by Àngel Guimerà, published by Educaula in paperback (288 pages, in Catalan).
A realist drama by Àngel Guimerà that examines the mechanisms by which a community sets its boundaries and marginalises those it considers outsiders: the tension between assimilation and difference, sacrifice and the exclusion of the other. The play reflects on the lack of identity anchoring of those left outside, placed in an intermediate space, always out of place.
The play, premiered in Barcelona in 1900, is offered as volume 35 of the Educació 62 collection.
Recommended for readers aged 14 and over, both for reading and for the study of Catalan literature and theatre.
