«La dama boba / El perro del hortelano» is the theatre volume by Lope de Vega published by Hermes in paperback (378 pages, in Spanish).
The volume brings together two Golden Age comedies in which love, honour and social conventions drive the characters. In «La dama boba», a girl who seems simple is transformed by falling in love; in «El perro del hortelano», a countess does not want the suitor who courts her, but neither does she set him free.
Edition by Rosa Navarro Durán. Volume 32 of the Biblioteca Hermes — Clásicos Castellanos, directed by José Francisco Ruiz Casanova.
Spanish playwright and poet of the Golden Age, author of Fuente Ovejuna, The Knight from Olmedo and The Dog in the Manger.
