Florence Farfarletti, a State Department official, devises a secret mission to promote women's emancipation in the emirate of Matar through television programs: a talk show, a real soap opera, and a sitcom about the religious police. The plan unleashes chaos that satirizes American ineptitude and Arab intolerance.
Work published in 2005; this edition is a reprint and its cover includes the subtitle «A Novel».
Recommended for readers of political satire and acid humor, with an interest in international relations and the Middle East.
