To teach him a lesson, Martina, the wife of a lazy, heavy-drinking woodcutter, convinces a nobleman's envoys that her husband is the only doctor capable of curing his daughter, Lucinda. Martina claims that only through beatings will he admit he is a doctor, so the trick to get him to practice his profession involves giving him a good thrashing. But is Martina's the only deception in this play? This comic adaptation of Molière's classic brings the story to life for younger readers with humor and dynamic illustrations.
