«El azar de Laura Ulloa» is a contemporary novel by Susana Fortes, published by Editorial Planeta in hardback (200 pages, in Spanish).
In Vilavedra, a Galician city where time seems to stand still, the narrator Juana recalls the passions and secrets of the Ulloa family, from the old Count of Gondomar to his sons Rafael and Jacobo. Young Laura, marked by fate, stars in a story of unconfessable desires that crosses Galicia and Cuba, where the wind carries news and omens.
Published in 2006, it belongs to Planeta's Autores Españoles e Iberoamericanos collection. The author received the Premio de la Crítica in the Valencian Community for this work.
Recommended for readers of contemporary fiction and literary narrative who enjoy family sagas, secrets, and evocative atmospheres between Galicia and Cuba.
