«Comme ton père» is the novel by Guillaume Le Touze, published in 1994 by Editions de l'Olivier in paperback (218 pages, in French).
In 1993, Paul has taken refuge in caves at Massitissi (South Africa) as apartheid comes to an end; from there he writes a letter that will never reach its addressee. He has left behind his son, who decides to join him. In Rome, Claudia, caught between a frivolous sister and an all-too-perfect husband, also sets out for Massitissi.
Winner of the Prix Renaudot 1994. Guillaume Le Touze had previously published «Comme tu as changé» (1992), a work with which «Comme ton père» shares its theme.
For readers of contemporary French fiction interested in exile, family relationships and reunion.
