«Autobiografía de Federico Sánchez» is Jorge Semprún's autobiographical novel, published by Planeta in paperback (342 pages, in Spanish).
Jorge Semprún reconstructs in these pages his time as a militant of the Communist Party of Spain during the Franco dictatorship, under the identity of Federico Sánchez. The narrative combines political testimony with personal introspection and addresses memory, repression, and the dilemmas of the anti-Franco resistance.
It won the Planeta Prize in 1977 and was published in the Autores Españoles e Hispanoamericanos collection.
A read for those interested in 20th-century Spanish political history and personal testimonies about the Franco dictatorship.

Jorge Semprún Maura was a Spanish writer and politician who lived in France most of his life and wrote primarily in French. From 1953 to 1962, during the dictatorship of Francisco Franco, Semprún lived clandestinely in Spain working as an organizer for the exiled Communist Party of Spain, but was expelled from the party in 1964. After the death of Franco and the change to a democratic government, he served as Minister of Culture in Spain's socialist government from 1988 to 1991.
