«A los pies de Venus» is the novel by Vicente Blasco Ibáñez, published by Círculo de Lectores in hardback (315 pages, in Spanish).
Continuation of «El Papa del Mar», though it can be read as a standalone work: it narrates the romance between Claudio Borja, a young Valencian poet, and Rosaura Salcedo, a wealthy Argentine lady. Here Baltasar Figueras, Claudio's uncle, recalls the rise of the Borgias in fifteenth-century Rome, a city awakened anew at the feet of Venus.
Second instalment of the Borgia series. Work originally published in 1926; this edition is from 1982.
For readers of classic Spanish fiction interested in the Renaissance and in Borgia Rome.
