«Yo, campesino» is a children's picture book by Maria Espluga and Patricia Geis Conti, published by Combel Editorial in hardback (24 pages, in Spanish).
The protagonist, a boy, fantasises about being a farmer and recreates a day in the countryside: getting up early, ploughing, tending the livestock and enjoying the landscape. The childlike illustrations and the short, poetic text show rural life from the perspective of the youngest. It is part of the «Yo quiero ser» series, which introduces children to the world of dream jobs.
It belongs to the «Yo quiero ser» collection, whose other titles are «Yo, astronauta», «Yo, bailarina» and «Yo, marinero». First edition published in 2006.
Recommended for boys and girls aged 5 to 6, especially for early readers interested in animals and country life.
