«Vuelva usted mañana y otros artículos» is a collection of journalistic articles by Mariano José de Larra, published by El País in paperback.
A selection of articles that Larra published in the press in the first half of the 19th century. With irony and scepticism, he portrays customs, institutional laziness and bureaucracy in Spain at the time; there are also pieces of theatrical, literary and political criticism. His acid gaze has retained a surprising relevance.
Volume 22 of the Clásicos Españoles collection from El País, published in Barcelona in 2005. The article that gives the book its title was originally published in 1833.
For readers of classics who want to explore social satire and the costumbrismo of 19th-century Spain.
Mariano José de Larra y Sánchez de Castro was a Spanish romantic writer and journalist best known for his numerous essays and his infamous suicide. His works were often satirical and critical of the 19th-century Spanish society, and focused on both the politics and customs of his time.
