«Viajeras intrépidas y aventureras» is the biographical essay by Cristina Morató, published by Plaza & Janés in paperback (224 pages, in Spanish).
In this work, Cristina Morató brings together the lives of nearly forgotten women travellers who, from Antiquity to the great expeditions of the 17th and 19th centuries, defied their social role to explore little-known territories: nuns, pirates, conquistadoras, Victorian ladies in Africa and Arabia, explorers' wives and aviation pioneers.
This updated edition, published in February 2007, is part of the Obras diversas collection and opens with a prologue by Manu Leguineche.
For readers interested in women's history, travel narratives and biographies of female explorers.
