«Verte» is Marie Desplechin's children's novel, published by Rue de Sèvres in hardback (83 pages, in French).
Verte is eleven years old and shows no talent for witchcraft: she wants to be normal, to her mother Ursule's dismay. Convinced she must pass on the craft, Ursule entrusts her to her grandmother Anastabotte once a week. The results exceed expectations... perhaps too much.
The cover credits Marie Desplechin and Magali Le Huche; the edition is from 2018, within Rue de Sèvres's children's and young adult catalogue.
Suitable for child and young adult readers, especially those who enjoy stories of magic, family, and the passing down of traditions.
