«Trompa larga» is the children's story by Núria Cussó Grau, published by Editorial el Pirata in paperback, 24 pages, in Spanish.
Long ago, all elephants had short trunks except one, whose long trunk made his companions laugh at him. When a calf got trapped and the others couldn't reach it, that much-criticized difference proved essential. The story deals with social inclusion, respect, and acceptance of differences.
The illustrations are by Laia Guerrero. Trompa larga is volume 9 of the Aprender a leer en letra MAYÚSCULA e imprenta collection; each page repeats the text in print and capital letters.
Recommended for children aged 5 and 6 who are learning to read, and for working on values of inclusion and respect in the classroom or at home.
