The volume brings together three narrative pieces —«Chatanooga choochoo», «Átomo verde número cinco» and «Gaspard de la nuit»— in which Donoso observes bourgeois customs with a satirical eye, irony and fantastic touches.
It belongs to the Nueva Narrativa Hispánica collection and is the first edition, with a cover by Nuria Pompeia.
Readers of twentieth-century Spanish American narrative interested in social satire and the fantastic.

José Manuel Donoso Yáñez, was a Chilean writer, journalist and professor. He lived most of his life in Chile, although he spent many years in self-imposed exile in Mexico, the United States and Spain. Although he stated that he had left Chile in the 1960s for personal reasons, after 1973 his exile was also a form of protest against the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. He returned to Chile in 1981 and lived there until his death in 1996.
