«Retrofuturismos» is the steampunk anthology by various authors, edited by Marian Womack, published by Fábulas de Albión in paperback (424 pages).
The volume brings together stories by Spanish authors who take steampunk aesthetics to their own settings: gears, steam machines, imagined Victorian cities and period aeroplanes coexist with episodes of modern history, the rise of social movements and the denunciation of injustice. A formula that unites nostalgia for a fabulated past with the genre's rebellious and revolutionary impulse.
Published in 2014, it collects stories by sixteen authors, including Félix J. Palma, Sofía Rhei, Laura Fernández, Rubén Sánchez Trigos, Cristina Jurado, Jesús Cañadas and Noemí Sabugal.
For fans of steampunk and science fiction looking for a Spanish vision of the genre, with stories combining Victorian adventure and social criticism.
