«Relativism and Reality: A Contemporary Introduction» is the philosophical essay by Robert Kirk published by Routledge in paperback (204 pages, in English).
Does reality depend on our thought or does it exist independently of it? Kirk surveys the debate from the Greek philosophers to Wittgenstein and Rorty, contrasting realism, which defends a reality independent of the mind, with relativism, according to which what exists depends on the point of view.
First edition, published on 24 June 1999. Includes bibliographical references (pages 184-187) and index.
A starting point for those approaching philosophy for the first time and for students of epistemology or metaphysics.
