«Pasos» is Lope de Rueda's collection of short plays, published by Editorial Bambú in paperback (176 pages, in Spanish).
The pasos are short comic pieces featuring fools and naive characters who clash with the cunning of others. Their plots and dialogues reveal certain human mechanisms and, above all, cruelty towards those who appear guileless or innocent. This edition seeks to restore these classics to their full meaning with a contemporary, literary language.
Part of the «Clásicos castellanos» collection (no. 2), with an adaptation by Emilia Navarro Ramírez, illustrations by Jorge González, and a documentary section.
Recommended for readers aged 12 and up who want to approach classic Spanish theatre in an edition with contemporary language.

Lope de Rueda (c.1505<1510–1565) was a Spanish dramatist and author, regarded by some as the best of his era. A versatile writer, he also wrote comedies, farces, and pasos. He was the precursor to what is considered the golden age of Spanish literature.
