«Novelas ejemplares I» is the volume of short novels by Miguel de Cervantes, published by Cátedra in paperback (283 pages, in Spanish).
This volume brings together four short novels: La Gitanilla, El amante liberal, Rinconete y Cortadillo and La española inglesa. They are seventeenth-century works of fiction in which Cervantes mixes love intrigues, adventures, encounters and characters of very different backgrounds, from the popular world to the courtly.
First volume of the Novelas ejemplares, edited by Harry Sieber, in the Letras Hispánicas collection from Cátedra. The work was originally published in 1613.
Useful for high school students and for those new to the classics, with annotations that make reading easier.
