«No soy perfecta» is the children's picture book by Jimmy Liao, published by Barbara Fiore Editora in hardback (128 pages, in Spanish).
The protagonist, a girl named Perfecta Nueno, tells how the demands of her parents and school kept increasing until they exhausted her. With colorful illustrations, Jimmy Liao reflects on the obsession with perfection, the frustration it causes, and whether being perfect makes you happy or whether overly perfect people are annoying.
Original text in Chinese, with translation by Jordi Ainaud i Escudero. The first edition was published on 1 October 2012.
Aimed at children from about 6 years old and at adults who want an illustrated reflection on self-esteem and demandingness.
Jimmy Liao is a Taiwanese illustrator as well as a picture book writer. His Chinese pen name (幾米) is phonetically derived from his English given name Jimmy.
