«Miss Seeton fait des vocalises» is the mystery novel by Heron Carvic in paperback edition (283 pages, in French).
Retired art teacher Miss Seeton helps Scotland Yard again when their conventional methods fall short. Her strange ability to get to the bottom of cases draws her into a plot of European forgers and killers, where a musical keyword hides a very dangerous choir.
Fourth title in the Miss Seeton series. Originally published in 1973 as «Miss Seeton Sings»; translated by Elisabeth Luc.
For readers of classic mystery and cozy mystery with a singular protagonist and British tone.
Heron Carvic was an English actor and writer who provided the voice for Gandalf in the BBC Radio version of The Hobbit, and played Caiaphas the High Priest every time the play cycle The Man Born to Be King was broadcast. He also authored the five original Miss Seeton books featuring retired art teacher Miss Emily D. Seeton, a gentle parody of Agatha Christie's Miss Marple.
