«Mientras vivimos» is the novel by Maruja Torres, published by Planeta in hardback, with 264 pages in Spanish.
Judit, twenty years old, feels an almost morbid admiration for the novelist Regina Dalmau and seeks her help to leave the working-class neighbourhood. Regina, immersed in a creative and moral crisis, cannot help her; the visit confronts her with her past, and with Teresa. The novel speaks of jealousy, lies, truth, love, losses and bonds that women choose to create.
The work won the Planeta Prize in 2000. This 2002 edition belongs to the Colección Novela Única.
It will appeal to readers of contemporary Spanish fiction and to those looking for novels centred on female characters.
