«Marques» is the novel by Bernardo Atxaga published in 2007 by Arcadia in paperback, with 72 pages.
The book evokes the traces that people leave throughout history, similar to incisions in trees or rocks, and draws close to the reader to convey a feeling of proximity and justice towards the children, women and men who suffered the bombing of Gernika, protagonists of a war whose wounds have not yet healed.
For readers of Bernardo Atxaga and for those seeking a literary approach to the historical memory of the bombing of Gernika.
Bernardo Atxaga, pseudonym of Joseba Irazu Garmendia, is a Spanish Basque writer and self-translator.
