«Loin d'Odile» is the novel by Christian Oster, published by Editions de Minuit in paperback (141 pages, in French).
The narrative revolves around the narrator's unexpected cohabitation with a fly, which conditions his daily life. It is not a confinement: the action moves to the mountains, where the protagonist, older and somewhat rusty, skis in a striking manner. Women appear and leave quickly, like Odile, who gives the novel its title.
