«Le roi maladroit» is the children's picture book by Anne-Gaëlle Balpe, published by Tom Poche in paperback (32 pages, in French).
It tells the story of Dagobert, a king so clumsy that he trips, breaks objects and drops his crown, fed up with being laughed at. He asks for help from Berlin, the best enchanter in the kingdom, who prepares a potion with surprising ingredients, but the remedy does not seem to work. The story hints that his problem may not be clumsiness.
The book, illustrated by Mayalen Goust, went on sale on 3 May 2018.
Recommended for children aged 3 and up, within children's fiction of picture books in French.
